Despite the 2nd XI losing every single game in 2006 John still managed to average over 25 with the bat, and was a stalwart with the gloves. In 2007 he will once again form the main backbone of the side and if Royston are to do well he will need to score runs and also keep well against the new, refreshed and bolstered pace attack.
